Plan a Smooth Office Move

An office move is really two moves: the furniture, and the business itself. The first is heavy. The second is fragile. Here is how our commercial teams keep both intact.
Start with a move committee, not a truck
Nominate one decision-maker per department plus an IT lead. Every question during move week goes through them — no corridor debates at midnight.
Map desks before you pack a cable
Finalise the new floor plan first, then label every monitor, chair and crate to a desk number. Crews rebuild to the map, and staff sit down Monday to a desk that feels familiar.
Treat IT as its own phase
Servers, network gear and phone systems move on their own schedule with your IT team present. Photograph every rack and cable run before anything unplugs — it is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy.
Move in waves, not in one night
Departments relocate across two or three evenings where possible. Half the team stays productive while the other half moves, and problems surface while they are still small.
Tell clients before the boxes do
A short email with the new address, parking notes and any service windows beats a “where did they go?” call every time. Update listings and voicemail the same week.
Moving your team?
Weekend relocations for teams of 5 to 500 — every desk live before Monday standup.
