The Ultimate Moving Day Checklist

Print this, stick it on the fridge, and tick as you go. It covers the three phases every move has: the week before, the day itself, and the first evening in your new place.
One week before
- Confirm arrival time and parking with your movers
- Pack a “first night” box: bedding, chargers, toiletries, coffee, tools
- Defrost the freezer and use up perishables
- Photograph electronics and cable setups
- Book elevator windows and loading docks at both ends
Moving morning
- Walk the crew through every room, including storage areas
- Keep passports, keys, medication and valuables with you
- Do a final sweep: cupboards, attic, balcony, behind doors
- Note meter readings and take photos of empty rooms
First evening
- Check every box arrived — tick against the inventory
- Build beds first, kitchen second, everything else later
- Flatten cardboard as you go so rooms stay walkable
